Pay-What-You-Can Freelancer
Clarity coaching
Get the help you need to be clearer on your next steps through a 90-minute coaching sessions with me.
Things are pretty wild right now, especially for us freelancers. If you’re looking to think through your situation so you know what to do next, I can help you.
I want to feel helpful, so I’m piloting offering one-off 90-minute online sessions for freelancers and small business owners, where you pay what you can.
(In response to some surprise from a couple of people who booked in - there is zero catch here! I don’t try to ‘sell’ you on something! You get exactly the kind of coaching I offer people who can afford full price, just I was wondering how to be more helpful in this bloody crisis and this is one way.)
If you don’t have any money free right now and would like to talk about a different type of exchange or alternatively you have steady income and you’d like to sponsor a place for someone else - get in touch.
If your finances are steady, or you’re in a salaried job, consider booking a standard 90-min coaching session for yourself here.
I’m not a business advisor, but as a coach I can definitely hold a space for you to process and think and plan.
I have years of experience working with senior people in a long-term way all over the world on getting clarity in the face of complexity and mess.
What I’m offering here, for the first time, allows you to access that help as a freelancer, without you having to commit to a long-term, expensive coaching relationship with me that salaried people might be able to get organisational budget for.
I can always count on Meg for clarity and advice that cuts to the heart of things and allows me to reconcile all the many different plates we all sometimes have to spin. I can’t recommend an hour with this incredible woman enough.

For example, if you have
an important meeting/interview where you want to come out strong
a conversation coming up that requires a bit of courage
a new project that seems like it has too many moving parts
something you’d like to get better at and need a strategy for
a business idea you want to think through
a strategic plan that needs some sorting out
or if you just feel a bit in over your head, then a coaching call (or two) can fast-forward you several steps on your journey.
You could definitely use a session for reviewing your year and planning the year ahead.
These online sessions are a lot of me listening, asking questions and helping you to build a picture of your situation, as well as offering you any frameworks I know of that might be helpful.
Meg has been amazing to work with as I navigate leading in complexity. She has helped me make sense of how organisations and people in them behave and how one can lead in a way that unleashes the power of the collective. She created a space for me to challenge my own assumptions and gently held me to account for doing what I said I would! Transformative coaching for me as a leader.’

I’m really good at finding the sense in what you’re saying, and spotting where you might be glossing over something important. I don’t just ask endless questions; I’m happy to offer my perspective from 15 years of coaching leaders (if you want it!).
Sometimes you just need some space and time to get clear on your next steps.
Here’s how it works.
You find yourself with a problem/challenge/opportunity.
You book in a session with me (I’ll explain the actual details of how to do that in a minute).
At the appointed time, I call you (or more likely we meet in my online video meeting room).
You give me a description of what’s happening and I’ll ask more questions until we’re both clear(er) on the situation and the outcome you’re looking for.
Just had one-off ‘clear my head’ walking coaching session with Meg. Can’t recommend this enough if you have something on your mind where coaching with an empathetic smart and independent coach would help. It’s a very good investment.

What happens next depends on what we’re talking about.
If it’s a specific situation you’re planning for, we’ll set the situation in its broader context, think about options/consequences/strategies/tactics, and make as detailed a plan as you need.
If it’s a bigger, more amorphous challenge you’re facing, we’ll get the whole mess out in front of us, sit with it and then see what patterns emerge and find a way forward that makes sense.
I’ll be listening for where you seem committed and where you’re uncertain, where you have clarity and where things are swirly.
I’ll help you find where you might be falling into a false binary. I might help you find a useful metaphor.
Maybe we’ll think about the roots of the situation and the possible future timelines that might come from your decisions. We might think about who’s included and not, where your power is, what you have (and don’t have) influence over, and what you really want. There’s lots of silence and time to think, and almost always some laughter.
A coaching call with me is a space for you to think (and feel) stuff through.
Basically you borrow my brain and heart and gut to increase your ability to process what’s happening.
Just 'finished' - these things never finish - a few months of weekly coaching with Meg and I can say it's one of the best things I've done for myself both professionally and personally. So much thanks, Meg.
