Plan your next six months
of growth as a leader
by getting a snapshot of where you’re at right now.
You’re a deep thinker with a big job and it can therefore be hard to decide which parts of your inner and outer ecosystem you want to nurture next.
When you look at where you’d like to grow, I suggest they probably belong in five very large fields:
Your relationship with yourself - including your body, your psyche, your emotions, your connection to some bigger mystery, and the way you get things done
The way you handle complexity and mess - the ability to grow more expansive ways of making meaning in the world and be bigger than what you face
Your relationships with other people - the patterns and practices of how you relate to individuals, teams, groups, organisations as well as larger structures like governments, nations, and planetary governance
Your analysis and praxis working towards freedom from oppression - where have you been harmed, where are you part of causing harm and how can you be clear-eyed about both?
Your place in influencing planetary futures - how can you be part of doing what’s best for all life on Earth?
In the World Changing Leader’s Audit, I guide you through thinking about each of these five areas, so you can find the wisest place to put your energies.
You’ll also be on the World Changing Leader’s Guild email list where we move through each of those five aspects in a six-lunar-month cycle (five months + on fallow/exhale month).
The WCLA is just a wee google doc right now, but I promise to zhuzh her once her content is somewhat settled.
Who am I?
I’m a white, queer, neurosparkly trans woman working hard to nurture the parts of myself that are marginalised and deconstruct the parts that have been trained in dominance
I specialise in leadership development as it applies to complexity and mess, so love supporting deep thinkers with big jobs.
I work as the senior operations manager for Greater Manchester’s NHS trans healthcare service (views here are always mine, and not those of my employer, they’ll be happy to know)
I’m an international coach and consultant (get me) with over 20 years of experience supporting senior people and forward-thinking organisations to evolve their leadership, communication and culture
I’m the author of Presentation Now (Pearson 2015), a WHSmith Business Book of the Month
I’m active in educating myself and others around racism, misogyny, ableism, transphobia and queer antagonism
I have consistently high hopes (bless) of getting better at: writing, drawing, knitting, running, journalling, doing Tai Chi/Qi Gong, speaking German/Spanish/Mandarin, making clothes that actually fit me, and reading the piles and piles of books that I keep purchasing. I do meditate daily and have done for about 20 years, so at least there’s that.
